Michigan Democrats face scrutiny over Israel-related comments

Michigan Democratic candidates are facing scrutiny regarding their stances on Israel. State Senator Jeremy Moss, who recently won the Democratic primary for Michigan’s 11th Congressional District, has faced backlash following the leak of an audio recording. In the clip, Moss reportedly stated that the purpose of his career is to ensure America continues to support Israel, suggesting that America is not his homeland and that Israel may use the United States as a “pawn.”

Separately, Dr. Abdul El-Sayed, who won a Michigan Democratic Senate primary, has faced criticism for accusing Israel of practicing “apartheid.” Critics of El-Sayed’s comments argue that the assertion lacks factual basis, noting that Arab citizens in Israel hold rights to vote, work in various professions, and hold government office, contrasting these freedoms with those available in many neighboring Arab states.
