Michigan football coach maintains Bryce Underwood as starting quarterback

Michigan head coach Kyle Whittingham announced that Bryce Underwood will remain the team's starting quarterback despite recent struggles. The Wolverines currently hold a 3-2 record following two consecutive losses.

During the team's bye week, true freshman backup Tommy Carr received increased playing time, taking half of the first-team repetitions by design. Whittingham stated that while Underwood remains the starter, he is open to using Carr in specific game packages if it improves the team's chances of winning.

Additionally, Whittingham confirmed that Jason Beck will continue as offensive coordinator and playcaller. The coaching staff intends to maintain the use of the 'rhino' heavy personnel package, which is utilized more than 20 times per game to establish a physical advantage.
