Michigan football develops receiving corps for upcoming season

Michigan football is developing its receiving corps ahead of the upcoming season, with sophomore wide receiver Andrew Marsh expected to lead the group. Marsh, who recorded 651 receiving yards and four touchdowns last season, is expected to maintain chemistry with sophomore quarterback Bryce Underwood.

To bolster the offense, the Wolverines have added Utah transfer JJ Buchanan, described by coach Kyle Whittingham as a “special receiver” due to his athleticism and ability to act as a blocker and short-pass runner. The addition of Buchanan is intended to prevent defenses from focusing solely on Marsh, thereby stretching the field.

The team is also implementing a new offensive scheme under offensive coordinator Jason Beck. The approach is expected to be “explosive,” utilizing 11 personnel to spread defenses while maintaining a strong running game. Other players competing for depth roles include freshmen Salesi Moa and Travis Johnson, as well as sophomore Jamie Ffrench.
