Michigan legalizes online casino gambling, dozens of operators launch

Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer signed legislation that legalizes online casino gambling in the state. Major operators such as BetMGM, Barstool, BetRivers, Caesars Palace Online, FanDuel, DraftKings, PointsBet and others have begun offering digital casino games to players aged 21 and over. The new law also aligns Michigan with West Virginia, which has similar online gambling regulations.

The Saginaw Chippewa Indian Tribe’s Soaring Eagle Casino and Resort, Michigan’s largest tribal gambling venue, is highlighted as a key player in the state’s broader gambling landscape, emphasizing both land‑based and online offerings and recent technology upgrades to its surveillance and payment systems.
