Michigan men's basketball defeats Eastern Michigan 87-62 in exhibition

The Michigan men’s basketball team secured an 87-62 victory over Eastern Michigan in their first exhibition game of the season. Despite experiencing offensive droughts and a stretch of five turnovers in six possessions during the first half, the Wolverines maintained control through consistent three-point shooting.

Sophomore guard Trey McKenney led the offensive effort, scoring at multiple levels and facilitating opportunities for teammates such as freshman Joseph Hartman and Quinn Costello. The game also marked the debut of new head coaches for both programs: Mike Boynton Jr. for Michigan, following the departure of Dusty May, and Billy Donlon for Eastern Michigan.

Michigan's roster saw the participation of several key players, including LSU transfer Jalen Reed and Ricky Liburd, alongside new additions Kenny Noland and former Wolverine Roddy Gayle Jr.
