Michigan RB Jordan Marshall battling nagging injury ahead of Iowa game

Michigan Wolverines head coach Kyle Whittingham has addressed the injury status of star running back Jordan Marshall ahead of the upcoming game against Iowa. Marshall has been dealing with a nagging injury that has impacted his production early in the season, limiting his ability to run downhill and reducing his yards per carry compared to last year.

Despite the injury, Marshall is expected to play on Saturday unless a setback occurs. Whittingham noted that Marshall felt better following the recent game against UTEP, indicating progress in his recovery.

In the absence of a fully healthy Marshall, freshman running back Savion Hiter has emerged as a key contributor, recording 62 yards and two touchdowns in the recent matchup against UTEP. Michigan's rushing attack will face a significant challenge this week against an Iowa defense that currently ranks 11th nationally in rushing defense.
