Michigan State defeats Eastern Michigan 35-7

Michigan State secured a 35-7 victory over Eastern Michigan at Spartan Stadium, improving to a 2-0 record for the season. While the first half remained competitive with a 14-7 halftime lead, the Spartans pulled away in the second half by scoring 21 unanswered points.

Running back Cam Edwards led the offensive effort with 152 rushing yards and two touchdowns on 21 carries. Quarterback Alessio Milivojevic contributed two touchdown passes, including a 38-yard strike to Charles Taplin, who recorded his first career touchdown and 65 receiving yards.

Defensively, Eli Coenen recorded two sacks, and Charles Brantley forced and recovered a fumble in the third quarter. Head coach Pat Fitzgerald noted that while the win was significant, the team must improve on fundamental aspects such as tackling and gap protection.
