Michigan State football announces six captains for 2026 season
Michigan State University football has announced its six team captains for the 2026 season. Voted on by teammates, the leadership group includes Rhys Dakin, Trent Fraley, Jordan Hall, Nikai Martinez, Alessio Milivojevic, and Kenny Soares Jr. This selection ties the 1998 team for the most captains in program history.
Head coach Pat Fitzgerald noted that the group was chosen through a team-wide vote where all players were eligible. Jordan Hall, a senior linebacker, becomes the first Spartan linebacker to be named a captain in consecutive years since 2018-19. Hall enters the season as a key defensive figure, having recorded a career-high 88 tackles last season.
The linebacker unit is highlighted as a strength for the upcoming season under the guidance of co-defensive coordinator and linebackers coach Max Bullough. Hall is recognized as a standout player following a season where he led the team in tackles and forced fumbles despite playing through injuries.
