Michigan State men's soccer begins its 70th season on Thursday, Aug. 20, hosting UAlbany at DeMartin Stadium. The Spartans, who finished the 2025 season with a 5-8-3 record, are looking to build on their home attendance success, having ranked eighth nationally in average attendance last year.

The Spartans return seven starters following the loss of four key players, including former Big Ten Goalkeeper of the Year Zac Kelly. Three Michigan State players—Miles Merritt, Brandon Munson, and Peter Soudan—were named to the 2026 Big Ten Players to Watch List. UAlbany enters the match as well, following a 5-6-6 season in 2025.
