Michigan State Police launch website for cold case investigations
The Michigan State Police (MSP) has launched a new website designed to bring long-unsolved cold cases back into public attention and solicit tips from the community. The platform allows users to browse unsolved cases organized by MSP district and provides a direct method for submitting information to investigators.
Currently, 11 cases are featured on the site, though officials state more will be added. The MSP maintains approximately 200 open cold cases at any given time. To assist with these investigations, the First District Cold Case Unit has been working with Michigan State University students to review older murders from a fresh perspective.
One featured case is the 1977 disappearance of 34-year-old Glenna Jane West in St. Joseph, Michigan. West was last seen near Church Street, and her purse was later discovered at a local hotel. Investigators are seeking information regarding her disappearance and any details concerning a possible vehicle she may have been driving at the time.
