Michigan State Spartans football previews 2026 roster changes

Michigan State Spartans football is undergoing significant roster changes as the team prepares for the 2026 season. The program has seen a turnover in several key positions, including the loss of top tight ends Jack Velling and Michael Masunas.

Jayden Savoury has emerged as a notable riser during fall camp. After appearing in only four games as a true freshman, Savoury has increased his weight to 253 pounds and grown to 6'5", showing progress in both athleticism and blocking ability. Tight ends coach Brian Wozniak, one of the few assistant coaches retained from the previous staff, continues to lead the position group.

On the offensive side, the team is looking toward new talent on the offensive line, including projected left tackle Ben Murawski and center Trent Fraley. While the running game shows signs of optimism, the passing game faces questions due to the departure of several primary pass-catchers.
