Michigan State volleyball defeats Central Michigan in straight sets
Central Michigan University volleyball concluded the Heart of the Mitt Invitational on Saturday with losses to both Illinois State and Michigan State.
In the match against Illinois State, the Chippewas fell in three sets. Karla Sanchez-George recorded a career-high eight kills during the contest. Taylor Cripe led the offense for Central Michigan, totaling 14 kills across both Saturday matches and 40 kills for the tournament.
In the second match of the day, Michigan State secured a 3-0 straight-set victory (25-18, 25-10, 25-19) at McGuirk Arena. The win moves the Spartans to a 5-0 season record and extends their winning set streak to 14. Alanna Bankston led Michigan State with 13 kills, while libero Lia Schneider surpassed the 1,000 career digs milestone during the match.
