Michigan Wolverines football gears up with strength gains and new O-line coach

Michigan football coach Kyle Whittingham said the team’s offseason work focused on improving strength after staff discovered the players “couldn’t lift.” Most of the roster posted personal‑best lifts, with senior tight end Zack Marshall singled out for his work ethic and production in 2025.

The Wolverines also hired Utah offensive‑line coach Jim Harding to evaluate the line and identify the five best linemen before the season opener against Western Michigan. Harding said he will consider position changes if needed and aims to have the top five set at least two weeks before the first game.
