Michoacan Governor Bedolla Rejects Deputy Barragán's Claim of Silvanist Nostalgia

Michoacan Governor Alfredo Ramírez Bedolla publicly rebuked local deputy Juan Carlos Barragán, who had suggested the governor would end his term worse than former governor Silvano Aureoles and accused him of politically exploiting public institutions. Bedolla argued that Barragán’s statements reflected a nostalgic defense of the previous “silvanist” administration, noting that the deputy himself served under Aureoles.

The governor emphasised that his own administration follows the principles of Mexico’s Fourth Transformation, distancing itself from past corruption. He said critics who long for earlier practices are misguided and reaffirmed his focus on delivering public‑service results rather than engaging in partisan disputes.
