Michoacan Mother Sentenced to 21 Years in Prison for Killing Infant

A court in Zamora, Michoacan sentenced Karla Patricia “N” to 21 years and six months in prison after finding her fully responsible for the homicide of her 1‑year‑old son. The prosecution detailed that the child suffered burns and blunt‑force injuries before dying from traumatic brain injury. The judgment also includes restitution for the victim’s family.

In a separate case, a 13‑year‑old girl who disappeared from her home in Zitácuaro, Michoacan, was located alive in the State of Mexico. She told investigators that she left voluntarily.
