Michoacán agencies launch community outreach and family support programs
Government agencies in Michoacán are implementing various social assistance and community support programs. The Sistema DIF Michoacán, in collaboration with local and indigenous councils, held the First Meeting of Community Liaisons in Opopeo. This initiative aims to strengthen communication channels and improve the delivery of social assistance to families in the Purépecha region through a network of community liaisons.
Additionally, the Secretaría de Igualdad Sustantiva y Desarrollo de las Mujeres Michoacanas (Seimujer) has conducted the ‘Jalo por las Mamás’ caravan across more than 16 municipalities. Through this program, the agency has distributed 313,000 diapers to support family economies and reduce daily expenses for households. The initiative also includes educational talks focused on promoting shared caregiving responsibilities between men and women to support women's opportunities for work and education.
