Michoacán authorities honor firefighters with skills competition

To commemorate Firefighter Day, the Michoacán Secretariat of Government (Segob), through the State Civil Protection Coordination, held the ‘Bombero Extremo Challenge’ in Morelia. The competition tested the strength, resistance, technique, and response capacity of firefighters and emergency personnel from across the state.

Participants competed in three categories: Open, Female, and Over 50. Winners included Brenda Jaqueline Casimiro Velázquez in the Female category, Manuel Adrián Martínez Rojas in the Open category, and Jorge Alberto García Soberanes in the Over 50 category.

During the event, Secretary of Government Raúl Zepeda Villaseñor and State Civil Protection Coordinator Amuravi Ramírez Cisneros recognized the dedication and sacrifice of local firefighters. The ceremony also included the presentation of new equipment and awards for career achievement and performance, alongside a commitment to continue strengthening training and professionalization for emergency responders.
