Michoacán authorities investigate animal cruelty in Tanhuato

The Michoacán State Attorney General's Office (FGE) has opened a formal investigation into animal cruelty following a viral video showing a man throwing boiling water at two dogs in Tanhuato. The incident occurred on Melchor Ocampo Street in the San Ramón neighborhood.

Authorities located one of the dogs, a white canine known as ‘Paloma,’ who is reported to be in stable physical condition. Local activists noted that the dog was already undergoing treatment for cancer and requires ongoing medical care. The second dog, which has black fur, remains missing.

Investigation agents are currently analyzing audiovisual material from local security cameras to identify and apprehend the suspect. The Tanhuato City Council has issued an official statement condemning the attack.
