Michoacán authorities seize 4,391 slot machines linked to organized crime

The government of Michoacán has seized 4,391 slot machines as part of a strategic effort to dismantle the financial structures of organized crime groups in the state. Governor Alfredo Ramírez Bedolla reported that these machines were generating an estimated 631 million pesos annually for criminal activities.

Authorities estimated that these devices provided approximately 52.6 million pesos in monthly revenue for illegal groups. The Governor noted that beyond generating illicit funds, these machines serve as hubs for violence linked to extortion, threats, and drug trafficking. The operations involved coordinated efforts between the Secretariat of Public Security (SSP), the State Attorney General's Office (FGE), and federal forces to remove the devices from local shops and small businesses.
