The Michoacán Secretary of Culture (Secum) has awarded the 2026 Eréndira State Arts Prize to three recipients for their contributions to the region's cultural landscape. The ceremony took place at the Melchor Ocampo Theater in Morelia.
Joaquín Bautista Ramírez received the award in Music and Sound Arts, honoring his work in preserving P’urhépecha traditions. Ioulia Akhmadeeva was recognized in the Visual Arts category, and the contemporary dance company La Serpiente received the prize for Dance. Each recipient was granted a stimulus of 300,000 pesos and an official recognition signed by Governor Alfredo Ramírez Bedolla.
Tamara Sosa Alanís, head of Secum, noted that these artists have enriched Michoacán through creation, teaching, and community building. The award also served to honor the legacy of the late dancer and educator Dalia Próspero Maldonado.
