Latin American regions implement student aid and social subsidies

Various regional governments and institutions across Latin America are implementing social programs to support students through financial aid, transportation subsidies, and merit-based incentives.

In Argentina, the Chaco Government introduced the ‘Más Futuro – Incentivo al Mérito’ program for high school seniors, offering monthly economic incentives and training in Artificial Intelligence and Financial Mathematics. In Mexico, the Gertrudis Bocanegra transportation scholarship registration for public university students in Michoacán has been extended to October 9, providing 1,900 pesos bimonthly to help cover travel costs.

In Chile, the Los Ríos region is distributing the ‘Bono Logro Escolar 2026’ to over 7,000 vulnerable students, while Junaeb has allocated funds for a mobile dental clinic to serve students in Portezuelo. In Colombia, rural students in Marinilla are receiving school transport subsidies, and students are utilizing ICFES exam scores to qualify for various university scholarships. Additionally, in the Dominican Republic, the San Juan municipality is providing food rations to over 400 local transport workers to assist with household expenses.
