Michoacán Governor Bedolla Rolls Out Infrastructure, Social and Environmental Programs

Governor Alfredo Ramírez Bedolla used a series of July 2026 events in Morelia to announce a slate of state initiatives. At the 25th National Road Meeting (July 15‑17) he highlighted historic infrastructure spending without public debt, including a 3.5 bn‑peso second peripheral ring around Morelia, new tele‑cable lines in Uruapan and Morelia, rehabilitation of 2,200 km of state roads, expansion of the Autopista Siglo XXI to four lanes, construction of the Agroexportation highway linking Uruapan and Zamora, and a toll‑free Maravatío‑Zitácuaro route, with a total investment exceeding 42 bn pesos.

During the “Las Mujeres Podemos” convention Bedolla praised women’s leadership, announced an electoral reform barring convicted abusers from candidacy, and noted Michoacán’s lead with 127 free gender‑violence support centers. He also cited the decriminalisation of abortion and the “Las Solidarias” program that has cut teen pregnancy by 29 %.

The D4TA programme will provide free 4 GB‑per‑month internet chips to all public high‑school and university students, with registration in August and distribution in September 2026.

An environmental push aims to reach 50 million trees planted, building on 36.9 million already in place, using drones for seed dispersal in protected areas. The Agroexportation highway construction is set to begin in October with a 13.3 bn‑peso budget. The state also celebrated the graduation of 6,600 students from Cecytem.
