Michoacán Governor Bedolla supports indigenous self-governing communities
Michoacán Governor Alfredo Ramírez Bedolla has pledged permanent support to the 57 indigenous communities in the state that currently operate under self-governance models. During a meeting in Los Reyes with representatives from the Pamatácuaro and Sicuicho intercommunal councils, the governor addressed various requests regarding health, road infrastructure, education, internet connectivity, and water services.
As part of these efforts, the state has begun distributing specialized medical equipment to these regions. This includes the delivery of three equipped ambulances to the communities of Pamatácuaro, San Benito de Palermo, and Sicuicho, with each unit representing an investment of approximately 1.8 million pesos. These vehicles will operate in coordination with the Medical Emergencies Regulatory Center (CRUM) to ensure efficient patient transfers to high-specialty hospitals.
Additionally, the governor inaugurated road rehabilitation projects, including the Cotija-Quitupan stretch with a 19.6 million peso investment and the Los Reyes-Sicuicho stretch, which received 37.3 million pesos in funding. These infrastructure improvements aim to enhance connectivity and economic activity for tens of thousands of residents in the Purépecha region.
