Michoacán Governor delivers ambulances to indigenous communities
Governor Alfredo Ramírez Bedolla has delivered six state-of-the-art, fully equipped ambulances to indigenous self-governing communities in the municipalities of Zitácuaro, Ocampo, and Hidalgo. The recipient communities include Francisco Serrato, Crescencio Morales, Donaciano Ojeda, Carpinteros, San Cristóbal, and San Matías el Grande.
The governor stated that emergency medical care was a critical need identified during meetings with indigenous leaders. He reiterated a commitment to provide an ambulance to each of the 57 self-governing bodies in Michoacán. To ensure effective service, the Michoacán Ministry of Health will provide training in vehicle maintenance and first aid.
In Toluca, Mayor Ricardo Moreno also announced the acquisition of a new high-tech ambulance to strengthen emergency response capabilities. Since its introduction in October, the unit has completed 133 services, including 53 medical emergencies. This initiative is part of a broader effort to upgrade Civil Protection and Firefighter equipment, which previously relied on adapted used vehicles.
