Michoacán Issues Search for Ex‑Mayor Security Chief Wanted for Homicide

The public prosecutor of the state of Michoacán has issued an official search flyer and a reward of 100,000 pesos for information leading to the capture of José Manuel Jiménez Miranda. Jiménez Miranda previously served as the coordinator of security escorts for Carlos Manzo, the mayor of Uruapan. He is wanted on a warrant for qualified homicide, linked to a killing in the Meseta Purépecha region eight months ago. The order, FGEM 22/2026, is being disseminated to judicial districts, bus terminals and border points throughout the state. Authorities have already detained 24 suspects connected to the case, including seven of the mayor’s official escorts, who are in preventive custody for the same crime.
