Michoacán implements digital connectivity and infrastructure projects

The government of Michoacán has implemented several social and infrastructure initiatives. The ‘D4TA Datos Gratis’ program, led by Governor Alfredo Ramírez Bedolla, provides free mobile connectivity to students in public high schools and universities. The program offers 4 GB of free data, unlimited social media, calls, and SMS to help reduce the digital divide and ease the economic burden on families. More than 85,000 families have benefited, with approximately 20,000 new student registrations this school cycle and plans to include nearly 12,000 teachers.

In terms of physical infrastructure, the state is progressing on the first section of the second peripheral ring in Morelia. State Treasurer Luis Navarro stated that the project is being executed without incurring public debt and aims to improve metropolitan connectivity for residents of Charo, Álvaro Obregón, and Tarímbaro. He noted that 99 percent of infrastructure projects in the state are executed by local companies to ensure resources remain within the region.
