Michoacán legislator calls for urgent installation of electoral Governance Table

In Michoacán, Deputy Antonio Carreño Sosa has called for the immediate installation of the Governance Table to oversee the local electoral process. Despite the process having begun two weeks ago, the table—which coordinates security, polling station viability, and potential difficulties such as self-governing zones—has not yet been established.

Carreño Sosa emphasized that the table requires communication between electoral bodies, the Executive Power, and political parties. He noted that failure to install the table promptly could prevent the identification and prevention of issues that might disrupt the elections. He referenced the 2024 local elections, where political violence resulted in the deaths of several municipal presidential candidates.
