Michoacán: Multiple fatalities reported in Buenavista Tomatlán armed attacks

Multiple armed attacks in the municipality of Buenavista Tomatlán, Michoacán, have resulted in several fatalities.

In one incident in the Del Parque neighborhood, gunmen on motorcycles attacked a vehicle, killing an 18-year-old woman, Ofelia L., and her four-month-old baby. A 65-year-old woman, Agustina “N”, was seriously injured in the assault and transported to a local hospital.

In a separate incident in the La Ruana area, a 22-year-old man, identified as Alejandro A., was shot multiple times while walking on Benito Juárez Street. Authorities recovered 18 spent 9mm shell casings at the scene.

The Fiscalía General del Estado de Michoacán has launched investigations into both attacks. The region of Tierra Caliente remains a site of ongoing conflict between organized crime groups fighting for territorial control.
