Michoacán officials tour Quiroga and Ario de Rosales to push infrastructure and safety plans

Alfonso Martínez Alcázar, mayor of Morelia, visited the town of Quiroga in Michoacán, where he heard residents complain about abandoned federal road maintenance, unsafe night travel on the highway linking Quiroga with Morelia and Zacapu, and a lack of federal support for the local economy and health services. He noted a recent UK travel warning that excludes Morelia and expressed frustration over safety concerns for tourists.

Ernesto Núñez Aguilar, the state leader of the Green Ecologist Party of Mexico (PVEM) and prospective coordinator of the national “Cuarta Transformación” agenda in Michoacán, toured Ario de Rosales. He presented his “Michoacán Competitivo” program, highlighting the need for better roads, agricultural and mining support, and improved security, aligning the plan with President Claudia Sheinbaum’s federal priorities.
