Michoacán security and investment plan progresses under President Sheinbaum

President Claudia Sheinbaum’s visit to Michoacán highlighted the launch of the "Plan Michoacán for Peace and Justice," which combines security actions with substantial social investment. Morena leader Fabiola Alanís reported early reductions in homicide and extortion and noted the plan includes around 80,000 new homes, education, infrastructure, indigenous support and rural development.

PRD interim state president Verónica García Reyes welcomed the federal investment but stressed that security must improve for families to feel safe. She cited ongoing fear among residents, the need for stronger public‑security measures and better rural infrastructure, credit access and environmental protection for the state's agricultural sector.

Both political figures urged continued coordination between federal, state and municipal authorities to consolidate gains and address remaining insecurity in Michoacán.
