Youth participation initiatives launched in Yucatán and Michoacán

In Yucatán, Governor Joaquín Díaz Mena launched the first Advisory Council for Girls, Boys, and Adolescents and the 2026 Rights and Values Fair. These initiatives aim to integrate youth voices into public life and ensure their needs are considered in government budgeting and policy development.

In Michoacán, the 2026 Inclusive Youth Parliament concluded with significant legislative proposals. Participants met with Governor Alfredo Ramírez Bedolla to discuss community needs and requested that no laws affecting youth be passed without their involvement. Key outcomes from the parliamentary sessions included the approval of a draft law for psychological care in public schools and a social project titled ‘Scientists of Tomorrow’ to mentor young girls in STEM fields to bridge the gender gap.
