Michoacán’s Secum launches summer cultural events in Morelia

The Secretaría de Cultura de Michoacán (Secum) invited the public to the third Feria de la Corunda y el Churipo, held July 10‑12 at the Casa de la Cultura in Morelia. The fair featured about 30 traditional cooks, artisans, mezcal producers and local entrepreneurs, with musical performances, a traditional‑clothing runway and opportunities to purchase regional foods and crafts.

On July 11 Secum also inaugurated the free collective sculpture exhibition “Creaciones en pasta de caña” at the Antiguo Colegio Jesuita cultural centre. The show displays works created in a workshop on cane‑paste techniques, highlighting Purépecha heritage; it will remain open to visitors until August 19 and includes pieces by Beatriz Ortega Ruiz, Mario Agustín Gaspar Rodríguez and other participants.
