Michter’s named world’s most admired whisky for fourth year
Michter’s, a distillery based in Louisville, Kentucky, has been named the world’s most admired whisky for the fourth consecutive year. This recognition comes from the 2026 list published by Drinks International, which ranks the top 50 whisky brands globally.
The rankings are decided by an academy of independent experts, including journalists, bartenders, and buyers from more than 25 countries. The selection process evaluates brands based on quality, consistency, price-to-quality ratio, and branding strength.
In the 2026 rankings, Japanese distilleries secured the remaining top spots, with The Yamazaki in second place and Hibiki in third. Johnnie Walker was ranked fifth and named the most admired Scotch whisky, while Redbreast was the highest-rated Irish whiskey at 18th place.
