Michuhol-gu expands mobile dementia screening services

Michuhol-gu in Incheon is expanding the operation of its mobile dementia screening unit, known as the ‘Knock-Knock Memory Connection Center,’ to improve accessibility for local residents.

Since March, the Michuhol-gu Dementia Relief Center has operated the mobile unit on a bi-weekly basis at the Michuhol-gu Public Health Center. During the first half of the year, 160 people were screened, including 76 new participants and 29 individuals identified with cognitive decline.

In response to these results, the mobile unit will increase its frequency from bi-weekly to weekly, operating every Monday from 9:30 AM to 11:30 AM. Residents without a prior diagnosis of dementia or mild cognitive impairment can receive free screenings by presenting identification. The process takes approximately 10 to 15 minutes and provides access to customized prevention counseling and guidance for further testing.
