Mick Jagger supports music education through significant school donation
Mick Jagger, the frontman of The Rolling Stones, has a long-standing history of supporting music education. In 2002, during the ‘Licks Tour’, Jagger donated approximately $150,000 (reported as £100,000) to his former school, Dartford Grammar School.
The contribution funded the ‘Red Rooster’ project, named after the Rolling Stones song ‘Little Red Rooster’. This initiative eventually led to the establishment of the Mick Jagger Centre, which provides free training in string and wind instruments in collaboration with the Kent Music School and the Trinity College of Music. Jagger emphasized the importance of providing children with spaces to practice and share their musical visions from an early age.
