Mick Price and Michael Kent Jnr enter three three-year-olds in Caulfield Handicap

Australian trainers Mick Price and Michael Kent Jnr have entered a trio of lightly‑raced three‑year‑olds—Brazen Dechambeau, Commit and Dustee—in The Vally @ Caulfield Handicap, a 1200‑metre race scheduled for Saturday. Brazen Dechambeau, after a midfield debut at Flemington on Melbourne Cup Day and a win at Pakenham, finished fifth over 1100 m at Caulfield on July 25 and is expected to benefit from the longer distance. Commit, who beat stable‑mate Dustee at Sale and placed third behind American Eagle at Sandown, will start his third preparation run, with Price hoping for a more forward position after a slow start at Sandown. Dustee, described by Price as “tough”, struggled in his first start at Bendigo but has since placed second at Sale and secured a maiden win at Seymour. Price said the race will help gauge whether the horses can move beyond metropolitan grade and possibly target stakes company in the future.
