Mickoski addresses UN on North Macedonia's geographic advantage
Speaking at the United Nations General Assembly in New York, North Macedonian Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski emphasized that the nation's geography can serve as an advantage rather than a destiny. He noted that in the current geopolitical climate, global priorities are shifting from mere cost-efficiency to reliability, energy security, and trustworthy supply chains.
Mickoski highlighted the importance of infrastructure, specifically the development of Corridors 8 and 10. These corridors aim to connect the Adriatic, Black, and Aegean Seas with Central Europe, fostering better movement for goods, energy, and people. He argued that such connectivity is essential for the region to integrate into the European economic framework and move away from being treated as a geopolitical periphery.
Additionally, the Prime Minister addressed the role of technology, stating that artificial intelligence is no longer a future concept but a fundamental infrastructure of the present. He stressed that societal success will depend on the ability to manage rapid technological changes and build resilient institutions.
