Mickoski claims judicial minority serves SDSM and DUI

North Macedonian Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski has criticized the country's judiciary, claiming a “vile minority” exists within the system that serves the SDSM and DUI political parties.

Mickoski stated that while the vast majority of judicial professionals are honest and uphold the rule of law, this small group contaminates the system. He attributed the erosion of judicial trust to three historical factors: political engineering during parliamentary elections in the 1990s, the establishment of the Special Public Prosecutor, and recent amendments to the Criminal Code. According to Mickoski, the latter amendments, introduced by the previous government, effectively provided a “political amnesty” for certain groups.
