Mickoski demands opposition proposal to unblock Electoral Code talks

Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski stated that negotiations regarding the Electoral Code will remain stalled until the opposition—comprising E Majta, LSDM, and BDI—presents a formal proposal. Mickoski expressed skepticism toward the opposition's intentions and called for them to reach an agreement among themselves, noting that the government would accept any consensus they achieve.

A key condition for VMRO-DPMNE is the facilitation of diaspora voting, starting with the 2029 presidential elections. The reform is part of a broader reform agenda, and while the initial deadline for approval was June 2025, a grace period exists until the end of June 2026.
