Mickoski expects clinical center negotiations to conclude by year-end

Hristijan Mickoski clinical center Skopje healthcare infrastructure emergency medical services

North Macedonian Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski announced that negotiations regarding the location for a new clinical center near the Boris Trajkovski Sports Center in Skopje are expected to conclude by the end of 2024. The government is currently evaluating two land parcels: one in front of a pool currently undergoing reconstruction and another behind a slide. The goal is to create an integrated healthcare complex by connecting the site with the existing ‘8 Septemvri’ hospital, the PET center, and the ‘Bukuresht’ polyclinic.

During the announcement, which took place at the promotion of 100 new ambulances, Mickoski noted that the government is also working with the Karposh Municipality to secure new parking spaces to manage future traffic. While the clinical center project is a major long-term goal, the Prime Minister highlighted immediate improvements to emergency services, including the deployment of 100 new ambulances, with negotiations underway for an additional 50 vehicles to be delivered by 2027.
