Mickoski reaffirms commitment to North Macedonia national data center
North Macedonian Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski has reaffirmed the government's commitment to constructing a national data center, stating that the global shift toward such technology is irreversible. Speaking during a visit to Tabanovce, Mickoski addressed concerns regarding reports that the European Union might withdraw funding and grants for national data centers across the Western Balkans.
Mickoski noted that the government has not received any official communication from the EU regarding a withdrawal of support. He emphasized that the project is essential for the country's economic development and the integration of artificial intelligence, which he cited as vital for modern communication and infrastructure functionality. He framed the initiative as a choice between moving toward the future or remaining stuck in the political paradigms of the 19th and 20th centuries.
