Hristijan Mickoski vows to bring Iva Mihajlova to justice

Macedonian Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski has announced that the government will seek to bring Iva Mihajlova and her father, Simeon Mihajlov, to justice following a diplomatic dispute with Bulgaria.

Mihajlova, who is facing legal proceedings in Macedonia related to a fatal traffic accident, is currently in Bulgaria. While her legal team claims she crossed the border legally, Macedonian authorities report no registered exit in the border police system. Mickoski stated that the refusal of Bulgarian authorities to extradite Mihajlova has caused significant diplomatic damage to the government in Sofia.

The Prime Minister intends to present evidence regarding the circumstances of her departure to NATO partners and the European Union to demonstrate how member states handle such cases. An investigation is ongoing to determine how Mihajlova left the country despite existing movement restrictions.
