Micky van de Ven signs new five-year contract with Tottenham

Tottenham Hotspur defender Micky van de Ven has signed a new five-year contract extension with the North London club. While the club has not officially disclosed the specific financial terms, reports suggest the deal could be worth approximately €75m (£64m) over five years, potentially making him one of the club’s highest earners.

The 25-year-old Dutch international, who joined from Wolfsburg in 2023, was a key figure in Tottenham’s 2025 Europa League triumph. Manager Roberto De Zerbi praised the defender, describing him as “one of the best central defenders in Europe” and a vital component of the club’s future.

Van de Ven expressed his excitement about the club’s direction, stating, “I love the club, I love the fans and I have developed a lot here. It is clear which direction the club wants to move in and I want to be part of it.” Sporting Director Johan Lange also emphasized that the club intends to build its future around the defender.
