Micoperi Spa celebrates 80 years of offshore operations

Micoperi Spa, a global leader in the offshore and subsea activities sector, is celebrating its 80th anniversary. Headquartered in Ravenna, Italy, the company was founded in 1946 to clear maritime routes of shipwrecks following World War II.

Over the decades, the firm has undertaken major international projects, including the 1956 Suez Canal improvements, the recovery of the cruiser Trieste, and the salvage of the Costa Concordia. Under the leadership of CEO Silvio Bartolotti, who took over in 1996, the company is now focusing on diversification.

Future strategic goals include expanding research capabilities, such as the microalgae research center in Ortona, and exploring agricultural innovations like the elimination of fungicides. Bartolotti emphasized that continued investment is essential to meeting these large-scale challenges.
