Microamp partners with Military University of Technology on 5G mmWave

Warsaw-based startup Microamp has signed a cooperation agreement with the Military University of Technology (WAT) to advance 5G mmWave wireless connectivity technology. As part of this initiative, Microamp has provided the university's Faculty of Electronics with a 5G mmWave Starter Kit to support research and educational purposes.

The provided platform is a standalone, 3GPP-compliant system that includes a radio access network, mmWave RAN software, a 5G core network, and access devices. Operating in the 24.25-29.5 GHz frequency range, the system offers throughput exceeding 4 Gb/s with latency below 5 ms. The technology will be used for academic research, including the development of reports and publications for international NATO working groups, and to provide students with practical experience in configuring and testing modern wireless networks.
