Microchip Technology launches 65V energy-aware digital power monitors
Microchip Technology has announced the launch of the PAC1761 and PAC1861 families, which are 65V energy-aware digital power monitors. These devices are designed to support the industry migration toward 48V power architectures in sectors such as automotive, AI/data centers, networking, and industrial systems.
Unlike standard monitors that only provide instantaneous data, these new monitors track accumulated energy data to help systems respond intelligently to changing power conditions over time. The hardware provides up to 65V of measurement headroom and 75V of spike protection to ensure survivability during transients.
Additional features include programmable alerts for voltage, current, and power excursions, step-limit detection for sudden load changes, and configurable accumulated-energy thresholds for proactive system management.
