Micromobility services expand in Rome and Lecce

In Italy, new initiatives are expanding access to shared micromobility services in Rome and Lecce.

Dott and Roma Tre University have renewed their partnership to provide students and staff with discounted rates for electric scooters and e-bikes. The agreement aims to offer a flexible, ecological alternative to private cars and improve integration with local public transport, specifically targeting last-mile travel. A key focus of the renewal is enhancing service at the Ostia educational hub to improve connections with the Castel Fusano station.

In Lecce, Ridemovi SpA has overhauled its pricing structure for shared micromobility to make urban travel more affordable. The company has eliminated all vehicle unlocking fees, moving to a purely consumption-based model. Users will now pay only for the minutes used: 0.30 euros per minute for e-bikes and scooters, and 0.35 euros per minute for electric mopeds. This change applies to a fleet of 650 vehicles, including e-bikes designed for families and grocery shopping.
