Micron and NVIDIA announce new hardware for AI and humanoid robotics
Micron is developing Edge Inference Memory (EIM), a high-performance DRAM specifically designed for physical AI applications such as autonomous driving, humanoid robots, and AR/VR technologies. The company is currently discussing product development with major customers to ensure the memory can rapidly process data required for AI inference.
Simultaneously, NVIDIA has officially launched RTX Spark, an Arm-based platform for Windows PCs. The platform utilizes the N1X System-on-Chip (SoC), which combines the low-power Grace CPU with the high-performance Blackwell GPU. This architecture is designed to support large-scale AI models exceeding 32GB directly on local devices, catering to content creators and AI developers. Major PC manufacturers, including HP, Dell, Lenovo, MSI, ASUS, and Microsoft, have expressed intent to release products based on the RTX Spark platform.
