Micron Technology signs strategic AI memory and storage partnership with Anthropic

Micron Technology announced on June 22, 2026 a multi‑year strategic agreement with AI startup Anthropic. The deal covers supply of Micron’s high‑bandwidth memory (HBM), DRAM and SSD products for Anthropic’s data‑center workloads and a joint design effort for AI‑optimized memory and storage architectures. Micron also made a strategic investment in Anthropic’s Series H funding round, which raised $65 billion and valued the company at $965 billion ahead of an IPO. Anthropic’s co‑founder Tom Brown said the partnership ensures “every layer of the stack” is right for training and serving Claude, Anthropic’s flagship large‑language model. Micron has already deployed Claude internally to accelerate coding and engineering tasks. The announcement came ahead of Micron’s earnings report scheduled for June 24, with analysts expecting AI‑driven revenue growth and a strong earnings beat. The market has responded positively, with Micron’s shares rising over 5 % after the news, while the broader memory sector remains in a tight supply environment that is boosting prices and margins for AI‑focused chipmakers.
