Micron Technology settles Netlist patent dispute for $600 million

Micron Technology and Netlist have reached a binding settlement to resolve their ongoing legal disputes. Under the terms of the agreement, Micron will pay a total of $600 million to Netlist over a five-year period.

The payment structure is designed to provide financial predictability, with quarterly installments of $30 million scheduled to begin in the fourth quarter of 2026 and continue through the third quarter of 2031. As part of the deal, Micron will receive a five-year license to Netlist’s global patent portfolio, and both companies have agreed to a mutual waiver of claims regarding their current litigation.

While the companies have entered into these binding licensing and settlement agreements, they have also filed a request in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California to extend the deadline for responding to Netlist’s lawsuit to October 26, 2026. This procedural extension is separate from the financial terms of the settlement.
